A lushly landscaped 200-acre park, Mount Washington
Forever is a Historic Landmark founded as a not-for-profit
cemetery in 1900 by a group of Kansas City Philanthropists.

Mount Washington Cemetery is located on an unusually
beautiful site, offering the highest vantage point in the area.  
The final resting place of some of the Kansas City area’s
most notable figures, Mount Washington has become a
cultural landmark, and is the largest cemetery in the State of

In the last few decades, however, the cemetery had fallen
into disrepair, with mounting maintenance costs and depleted
perpetual care funds.  The cemetery’s governing board
chose to sell the cemetery to Forever Enterprises in 1999.
Since becoming part of the Forever family, the cemetery has
been completely refurbished, with plans for new gardens,
and an inspiring new mausoleum.

Forever Enterprises is a family of companies including innovative cemeteries, funeral homes and LifeStory
production studios across the country. serves the families and individuals who have created Forever LifeStories, made from home
video clips, photographs, written and spoken words, and other mementos. Their site provides access to the entire
permanent collection of LifeStories, and is maintained by the Forever Endowment Care Fund. is also a forum for friends and family to chat or leave permanent messages.   Many families
add to their LifeStories continually, adding several new chapters each year.
