Daughter started her senior year of high school one week ago today, but I’ve been too verklempt to blog about it. {{sniffle}} Give me a moment…tawk amongst yourselves… (hat tip to Saturday Night Live’s Mike Myers skit Coffee Talk)
It’s been kind of a duh deal for her. They assigned her to wood shop. WOOD SHOP? This is a girly-girl who wears dresses every day. We contacted the counselor. Oh she doesn’t want to be in that class? Duh. Oh, she’d rather not have her locker eight miles from the wing of the building where all of her classes are located? Duh. Oh, she already took that class last year so repeating it is kind of pointless? Duh.
So the schedule is straightened out but I am still in shock. Middle Son has moved out of the attic a hundred miles away and into an apartment with some friends. I will try not to complain about him no longer living at home, as he is closer to home, and it’s not an attic - LOL
Short post today, lots going on. Hope all of you have a fabulous day!

One nice thing about homeschooling is that we ALWAYS have the preferred class schedule!

I was expecting some schedule foul-ups, as well. Now, I just have to worry about keeping them motivated to do their homework. Ugh!

Wow, that sounds like a lot of Duhs! If it’s any consolation, I was mistakingly put in shop class and ended up loving it! I made so many ash trays and bowls and leather coasters! haha.

This reminds me: I tried to sign up for home economics in high school and was told I couldn’t — that that was for girls. I was born too early….

Poor kid, that’s a nasty way to start out the year, with all the foul-ups. They probably made out the schedule by throwing all the cards in the air and seeing where they land. But things can only get better!

One good thing about kindergarten, I don’t have to worry about schedules yet.

We have something in common. My oldest daughter started her senior year this year too.
I’m taking it rather well, I think. I guess my mental health is better than I thought
