I am just about ready to go back to Blogger.
This thing is driving me insane. It refuses to do bold or italic where I tell it to, and it seems to just randomly decide when to do what I ask it to. I see a mistake so I go back to fix it and it screws up more, and it ends up with a string of HTML so long I get some sort of damn “Memory stack” error.
Grrr……
Please just ignore the hideously screwed up formatting, and the comments that got lost as I tried to fix the previous post.

Aww - I’m sorry you’re having trouble - again!
Hmm … I didn’t want that exclamation point to be bold face.
I think I will shelve the thoughts of looking for another host for now.

I am sure you will get the hang of WordPress soon. You’re a resourceful lady & smart too! Good luck with it. I dont care about a few formatting mistakes in the meantime.

Hey Marti! Just catching up here since I can’t tell if I’m coming or going lately. And thank you, now I will have Steve Martin’s King Tut song in my head all day long! Might even do the silly dance when no one is looking! (ya gotta grab your fun wherever you can is my moto)
Well, take care.

That is stinky. No doubt about it.

You know, whether it’s Blogger or whatever … they all have their moodiness. I hope you can work out the kinks soon.

Deep breaths. It’s hard when you don’t know how to fix things. I’d gladly help you, but um, I am one of those people who has to rely on the kindness of friends to help me figure this stuff out!

You don’t get italics in WordPress; you get [em]phasized.
You don’t get bold in WordPress; you get [strong].
You don’t get horizontal lines in WordPress. Period. Fake it, baby, fake it.
And other idiosyncracies as well. However, compared to the (ahem) interesting service Blogger was giving for about 3 days, as well as its tendency to make a browser editor creep slower and slower and s–l–o–w–e–r as the blog gets larger and the post longer, I’ll gladly learn WordPress’s peculiarities.
But I’m starting to think about writing a proper manual for users, instead of the Codex. I have a hard time getting an answer out of them.
